Being Sick

Sometimes being a kid really sucks - pun intended. For instance the booger catcher/sucker. This torture device used to make me laugh as a baby but now it just makes me scream. Try putting that up your own nose mom and dad!! I know you all think it is totally gross that I like to chew on it but it feels pretty good on my teeth. There are a few positves about being sick and I will name them.... watching TV with Dad, napping on the couch, and the buffet is always open from mom.

Dueling Personalities

Many of you may think of me as a sweet and sensitive baby (see photo A). Well, I have many personalities and one that is worrying my parents a bit these days is my wild and crazy side (see photo B). Danger...I am there! Sharp pieces of wood... YUM! Climbing into the toilet.. hope the water's warm!

It is all part of toddler-hood. Lets go over a few of my milestones to catch you up. I am crawling full speed, standing up on my own for a few seconds, saying things such as Da-Da, Mum, da-da Daaaay "Pappa Jay", ni-ni, dog, duck, etc. Of course I say a lot more than that but mom and dad seem to have trouble translating. I like to eat pretty much everything and my favorite is green vegetable foods. Those of you who know my mom will not be surprised by that. When I see a food I like I shake my fists in the air and make the ohohohohoh monkey sound until I get some.

Dad says if mom doesn't give me a little brother or sister that I will grow up spolied rotten since I get so much attention by so many people. Mom says Dad is nuts-o. She has waited 10 months to get a little sleep and is going to enjoy it... that is when I let her.

Baby mania!

So mom had the AUDACITY to leave me home and go hang out with about a million babies the other day. I ended up having an awesome time with Bubbie & Grandpa but that is besides the point.

I just thought this photo was pretty funny! I was a little upset to see that she takes photos of other babies but don't worry mom - I won't need therapy or anything because of this.

I am not a vegetarian

Well... no matter how many times mom and dad take me to Fairfax it is no use - I just love meat! At first I tried grilled salmon which is pretty good, then chicken which is also good but tonight I tasted the motherload and that is a rack of lamb bone. Oh YUM! Grammy and I cooked it together first making a paste of rosemary and sea salt and then rubbing that all over the meat before we seared it and finished it off in the broiler. I cook with Grammy a lot when mom and dad drop me off at her house and then return back (not accidentally) just in time for dinner. Sometimes we watch the Food network together before my nap...yes Mom, Grammy lets me watch TV without you knowing it!!

And by the way, today I am 10 months old!

Piano Man

Music is in my blood. Although drums (my drum is always left at Grammy's house.. wonder why??) are my all time favorite I do love to climb up onto the piano and surprise everyone with my music when they are not looking. The first time I did this Dad was flabbergasted. I like saying that word.. flabbergasted!!!

Have a great day everyone!

The Affair is Over

Well... after almost 10 months I have given the 'ol heave-ho to my binky (A.K.A. the pacifier, the nuk or the cork). For my whole life I have enjoyed sucking on that little plastic doo-dad. It always helped me to fall asleep and calmed me when I was crazy mad. Last week I was having a tough time teething and I grabbed that thing out of my mouth, hucked it onto the floor and have not taken it back since. Mom and dad tried a few times to give it to me but I just laugh at it and then get very mad if they try to put it in my mouth.

Even though mom and dad did not want me walking to my first day of school with that binky they were taken aback that my binky breakup happened so suddenly. Mom had a tough time getting me to sleep these last few days without it but now I have gotten the knack of calming down without it and life is good.

Gone are the binky round-ups, the late-night binky calls, the dropped binky, the gross "doghair in my binky" binky, the binky boils, and the ever popluar frozen binky. It is a new era.

Are there any binky donation drop-off locations??
